First Month

It has now been one month since I was laid off. This experience has been a little itchy, and I have learned the following 5 important things:

1) Monster.com blows.
2) Most people ignore your emails and resumes.
3) Internet scams are alive and well.
4) Not working is a little boring at times.
5) I can easily sleep 10 hours straight on a nightly basis.

Other than watching the rest of Season 4 of Futurama (I left off about halfway through during the transition period between my last two jobs early in 2007, since the previous company made it illegal for me to work for a few weeks there), I have not accomplished anything too grand, other than making the following decision concerning New Job:

No matter what I do, it must involve at least one of the following subjects: music, literature, alcohol, and computers.

These are the four things I know, these are the four things I love. Do I want another desk job? No, no I do not. But if I can somehow make it fall under one of those four criteria, so be it. Today begins the Well, Okay Then part of my journey, where I have to get serious about finding this new job of mine, instead of just half-assedly tossing resumes hither, thither, and yon. HAVE AT YOU!

Yeah, I'm in the same boat over here in the germany land, except I've been unemployed for 2 months.

Being unemployed sucks and is boring. and yeah, monster sucks (haven't found one decent job ad or one resume hit that was serious there) and 99% of the companies don't bother to answer your shit.

Word Verfication!! cibkjpi!!!!!

I think it's cool that you live somewhere where they actually pay you to get trained, that's pretty neat. At least a temporary cure for boredom, w00t!

"Lemme hear that dirty word: SOCIALISM!!!"
